The 1990s were Cancer

I’ve noticed a lot of things that are trash today had origins in the 1990s. I lived through this, and things that seemed interesting or harmless at the time have turned into absolute garbage today. Why people look back with nostalgia is mindblowing, instead we should see that our whole society really went to absolute garbage in the 90s, and it’s just doubling down and getting much worse now.

• Talk Radio (Rush Limbaugh) really took off in the 90s, leading to the absolute cancer of the Tea Party movement in the 2000s, Trump, and all the enormous amounts of conservative trash on the internet today
• The internet started in the early 90s. People should’ve seen the connections to universities and military, rather than ignoring it. The internet started for me as a quirky fun thing with AOL messenger and mine sweeper, but it was setup as a gigantic tool of control, so by the early 2000s, big tech made it this machine that you couldn’t opt out of. Everyone bought Windows 95, not realizing this would give Bill Gates global control over medicine, education, and food.
• The first mass shooting started in 1999 because of the nightmare reality we’re living in
• The movie “The Matrix” came out in 1999, and it was an absolute distraction from the reality we’re living in, and that laid the groundwork for all the talk of “living in a simulation” and all the dystopian movies we have now. No previous movie had the impact of The Matrix.
• Christian Rock & Purity Culture absolutely exploded, and this was just the most terrible trash ever for kids who had to go through this. It was such a mindless thing, it led heavily to the success of the “New Atheists” in the early 2000s and all the deconstruction egomaniacs on Youtube and TikTok today
• Indian Casinos took off (gambling) bringing booze and misery to casinos
• State lottos took off (gambling) which is a tax on poor people
• Trading card games took off (gambling) become a huge machine by the 2000s
• Hip hop became a huge corporate machine, leading to the billionaire rap idiots today
• American went to war in Iraq (first war in decades) leading to 9/11, the NSA, War on Terror, and all the nightmares of the military now
• Deregulation of Bill Clinton years led to the 2008 recession

Why there’s nostalgia for these years, I don’t understand. All this stuff was cancer.
